Dissipative Off-ramps

Dissipative Off-ramps was conceived as an AI-generated traversal of the United States in the spirit of the classic "road trip" from the East coast to the West. Dissipative Off-ramps aimed to explore the role of "theme" in the production of AI work as it contrasts with the current paradigm of production that utilizes "sampling" as a metaphor. The intent is to evoke the passion of exploration constantly subverted by entropy or disaster; as much as we want to move forward, we keep repeating the same mistakes. In that sense, the emotion is a feeling of the sublime, or blues. It consists of 10 "scenes," each of which is guided by individual text prompts setting the theme and mood of the work. Intended to be displayed on a UHD monitor oriented vertically, this version is reoriented for normal horizontal viewing.
